Description
Staten Island September 11 Memorial II - The Staten Island September 11 Memorial, also known as "Postcards," is a waterfront memorial in New York City that honors the 274 Staten Island residents who lost their lives in the September 11th attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Designed by architect Masayuki Sono, the memorial features two wing-like structures framing a view across the harbor to where the Twin Towers once stood. The interior walls are lined with granite plaques, each one bearing the name and silhouette of a victim, all of them facing the former World Trade Center site. In the background, One World Trade Center stands in the New York City skyline alongside the Tribute in Light, commemorating the horrific attacks of 9/11.
